Derwent Hideaway is a luxurious relatively modern house situated on the banks of the River Derwent at Austins Ferry. The house is located a short drive from the Brooker highway 15-20 minutes from Hobart and 5-10 minutes from Glenorchy and close to local attractions including Cadburys, Alpenrail, Moorilla, Bonorong Wild Life Park, Richmond and the Derwent valley.

Derwent Hideaway is fully furnished and has a fully equipped kitchen, laundry, gas barbecue, central heating, wood stove, wireless internet, towels, linen, television DVD, video and CD and basketball hoop. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms and the house sleeps up to eight people and 1 baby in a portacot. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed and en suite, the second bedroom has a double bed and the third two single beds. The latter are served by a second bathroom and separate toilet. All rooms have magnificent views of the river and Mt Wellington.

Derwent Hidaaway is located on the site of an old inn built in the 1820’s. Within 5 minutes walk there are a number of old buildings including Austins Cottage, one of the oldest buildings in Tasmania and with 5 minutes drive are the Claremont golf and bowls clubs. Right next door is a yacht club and public launching ramp.

Derwent Hideaway is rented short to medium term at competitive rates and is suitable for business people looking for somewhere to stay, a retreat or quiet place to work or holiday makers keen on sampling the many attractions that the Hobart region is famous for.

Derwent Hideaway is a short distance from local attractions inmcluding Moorilla, Alpenrail, Bonorong Park, Salmon ponds, the Derwent valley and the Cadbury chocolate factory. Derwent Hideaway is situated 5-10 minutes from Glenorchy and 15 minutes from Hobart CBD inlcuding markets and shopping and is 20 minutes drive from Wrest Point Casino.

Additional Terms and Conditions

Young mobile children or others that require supervision must be supervised by an adult. Our properties are not designed for wheel chairs. Pets are not allowed inside at any of our properties. Smoking inside is prohibited. If evidence of cigarette smoke is discovered inside, the guest will be evicted without refund or recourse and a cleaning charge of $250 applied.

3 Bedroom luxury waterside house. Bedding configuration is two double beds, two single beds, two extra beds are a sofa bed and a day bed in the living room. A portacot is also available on request.
