Colonial living is not something we all get to enjoy on a daily basis, but Tubby and Padman's experience will make you wish you could! The rich, warm decor, the smell of the leather Chesterfields, the high ceilings and intricate friezes all oozing the character and romance of earlier times.


Or if you prefer more modern living, there is a choice of fully self-contained 1 and 2 B/R apartments beautifully decorated in a leisure living style. Perfect for 2-4 persons accommodate up to four people at a very reasonable rate


Tubby and Padmans is a historic Georgian seaside bed and breakfast in the heart of Swansea on Tasmania’s East Coast. The property boasts panoramic views across the Oyster Bay to the Freycinet
Tubby and Padman’s Cottage overlooks the Great Oyster Bay to Freycinet Peninsular.


Pepper and Baudin Suite have spectacular water views. And can sit on the front veranda to watch the sunrise and the sun

Situation provides a good base on the East coast of Tasmania to visit Launceston Hobart and the Midlands and still enjoy the tranquillity of a historic country town..

Tubbies is in walking distance to shops cafes resuarants, 5 mins to beach walks and swimming 40 klms by car to the Freycinet National Park.

All suites and apartments are self-contained private have TV DVD.
Willow has cable TV, all have hairdryers and access to a laundry and clotheslines and a dryer. BBQ facilities are available.


Tubby and Padman is AAA 4 star proprerty and is accredited by the Tourism Council of Tasmania of From nursing home, to back packers and then to private ownership. Now proudly owned by Greg and Sue Lodge, Tubby and Padmans lives again as self-contained bed and breakfast suites and apartments. .

The property consists of two Heritage Suites within the property and two modern self-contained modern apartments to the rear of the property.
Within the house

1) Pepper Suites a three roomed heritage suite with Spa and water view. Ideal for a romantic getaway or honeymoon. Comprised of own lounge room with open fire, bedroom with 4 poster queen/bed and a double Spa bathroom, The suite is furnished with antiques and has traditional decore. Pepper is self-contained has light cooking facilities, an is serviced daily.


Breakfast provisions are for a continental and full cooked breakfast. Pepper suite opens onto a veranda.

2) Baudin Suite is a heritage bed sits the original formal lounge room of the old property, boasting water views. Breakfast provisions the same as for Pepper. Suite has light cooking facilities and is serviced daily. Furnished with antiques and traditional décor, sleep in a double brass and wrought iron bed relax on a chesterfield couch, or sit at the elegantly set breakfast table eating breakfast watching the boats in the bay. Ideal for honeymoons and special occasions.

3) Padman Suite is a three roomed heritage suite to the back of the old property .It has a cottage double bed, The suite is ensuited and has a double Spa romantic flickering fire The suite has a quaint cottage feel, also has its own courtyard. Ideal for honeymoons anniversaries. Facilities servicing are the same as the other heritage suites.This room is not available at present.

4) Willow is a modern spa apartment to the rear of the property set in a garden setting comprising of two bedrooms 1x Queen B/R/ 1x Dble also has a single bed in the sunroom . Ideal for couples family 3 or family 4 . This apartment has a full kitchen dining room and double spa bathroom
It has a home like feel and has proved to be a popular versatile Suite, sleeps four persons. Has private garden own deck and seating area. Breakfast provisions are full English.

5) Shell apartment is a one bedroom apartment with ensuited Queen bedroom Ideal for a couple Shell is a ground floor unit and is also suited to the older traveller who would prefer a shower to a Spa. Has own deck. full kitchen .Breakfast provisions are full English.
