Our property is located in the enchanting and historical East End of Newcastle. You'll enjoy the charm and convenience of the Novocastrian, just 100 metres from internationally renowned beaches and 500 metres from the CBD and train station.

Our 47-room establishment caters for all needs with a selection of rooms featuring partial beach, city or harbour views. The Black Diamond Restaurant available for your pleasure untill 9.00pm, Monday to Saturday.

From art galleries to the beach, scuba diving to mountain climbing, discovering wildlife or the nightlife, Newcastle is truly a city of exploration. Newcastle is a city revitalised, with its magnificent forshore, breezy walks, sunsparkled cafes, and many restored historic buildings.

One of Newcastle's favourite parks, King Edward Park, has breathtaking sunken gardens, a rotunda, an obelisk and panoramic views that sweep across the ocean ideal for family picnics. The Bogey hole near King Edward Park offers a refreshing place to cool off. Originally designed as a swimming hole for officers from the convict era, the Bogey hole boasts a stunning pool carved from Newcastle's strikingly sheer cliffs.

For historical buffs, Fort Scratchley is a must see. Just 200 metres from the Novocastrian, fort Scratchley was an operational fort during the second world war. Lose yourself in time and discover for yourself a centrepiece of Newcastle's history.

For the Energetic at heart, parts of the Great North Walk are just waiting to be conquered! There is nothing quite like the walks of Newcastle, where you can delight in strolling up the promenade to the famous Nobby's Lighthouse before being enticed by the refreshing waves of Nobbys beach. An attraction in itself, the Tram is a 45 minute ride that provides a full commentary of our magical city.
